Ever experienced a
sudden rush of pain right above your eyes and on your forehead? That’s
apparently a chemical curtailing down that balances the pain level in your
body. That chemical is Serotonin. If this decreases, your head’s pathway of
pain releases substances such as Neuropeptides that can travel to the outer
part of your head causing a head ache.
Usually this head
soreness or ache is experienced through some activating sources. These triggers
are usually experienced diversely for every individual. Most reciprocated
triggers are usually hormonal changes. Especially in women, it is often said
that women encounter head pain during their pre-menstrual days or post
menstrual days. As the level of hormones linking the menstruation may increase
or decrease. This imbalance gives a triggering effect of the head ache. Headache
can also be activated during menopause and pregnancy.
Sometimes fasting, avoiding meals, having excessive caffeine or chocolate, salty foods and spicy foods can also promote head-aches. Stress, depression, unusual weather and climatic changes are also a stimulant to head-aches.
